The first repair stage for two overpasses down the M-4 Don highway in the Rostov region is 80% completed
Two overpasses at the 1056 and 1060 km of the M-4 Don highway are being repaired near Aksai in the Rostov Region. To ensure uninterrupted passage of motorists, the work is being carried out in 2 stages: first on the right side of the structure, and then on the left one. As of today, the works at the first stage of the overpass repair are 80% complete. The traffic in both directions is arranged using the left side of the road course, with restricted speed limits.
The bridge builders finished dismantling structural elements of both overpasses and worn-out layers of road pavement, repaired transition slabs at the joint between the road structures.
At 1056 km, the repairs of concrete reinforcement of the outermost pier cones and inter-beam joints of the span girders are completed, at 1060 km, the girders in the outermost spans of the overpass are replaced. Works on reinforcing the monolithic roadway slab and expansion joints are carried on.
The full scope of operations at the overpasses, consisting of 2 phases, is slated to be completed by the end of November 2024.
