The Russian Highways State Company is refurbishing the city bypass in Makeyevka, Donetsk People's Republic. Specialists rehab the road surface on Magistralnaya, Avtotransportnaya and Gorodetskaya Streets. On the whole, over 10 kilometers are to be brought up to standard.
The works down the Makeyevka Bypass are conducted to reduce the traffic load on Makeyevskoe highway and 250th Anniversary of Donbass Avenue. During peak hours, motorists have to waste their time in traffic jams due to the emergency condition of the road.
Besides, more than five schools are located on the streets within the bypass. Roads leading to socially important facilities, in particular to children's educational institutions, are prioritized when drawing up the list of works for the next season. The State Company helps creating the necessary infrastructure close to schools in the newly rejoined regions, in order to improve road safety.
Now, the contractor is milling old asphalt concrete at the site, laying binder, installing curbstone. Next, the professional crews will proceed to the top layer installation, along with the arrangement of safety elements. Almost 400 road signs are to be installed at the site, 3.9 thousand square meters of markings to be applied, and more than 10 km of outdoor lighting lines to be mounted.
For the convenience of local residents, 36 bus stops will be constructed, and a parking lot with a sidewalk over 200 m long skirting around the nearby cemetery will be arranged on Autotransportnaya Street. Today, motorists have to leave their cars at the curb and walk out onto the roadway, putting themselves in danger. The total area of the sidewalk at the section will make up over 14 thousand square meters.
It is planned to complete all operations on Makeyevka Bypass this year.
