Russian Highways and Uralvagonzavod Concern JSC agreed to cooperate in road service development
The Russian Highways State Company and Uralvagonzavod Concern JSC agreed to cooperate with the aim of developing a comfortable roadside infrastructure for motor travelers and ensure a consistently high level of service along the entire length of the roadways under the trust management of the State Company.
The agreement on cooperation and interaction was signed by Konstantin Makiev, Deputy Chairman of the Board on Operational Activities and Development of User Services of the Russian Highways State Company, and Andrei Abakumov, Deputy Director General for Civilian Products of Uralvagonzavod Concern JSC.
The parties intend to cooperate in providing Russia's existing and prospective transportation corridors with modern EV charge-points.
Incorporation of EV charge-point complexes into multifunctional zones (MFZ) is another application of the principle of multifunctionality that allows to refuel a car with different types of fuel at one single place. Moreover, within the boundaries of a single MFZ there are places for parking, sanitary and domestic facilities, recreation areas, catering and retail outlets, car-care stations, as well as recreational areas for users (playgrounds, sports grounds, dog runs, and so forth).
To recap, all MFZs of the Russian Highways State Company are deployed using an innovative format: dividing traffic flows within the territory of MFZs by types of vehicles, establishing a large comfortable pedestrian “core” while focusing on comfort and service. The safety of both motorists and pedestrians at an MFZ through zoning and flow separation underlies the entire concept.
