Six months are left until the the M-12 highway section from Moscow to Arzamas is opened for traffic

Vyacheslav Petushenko, Chairman of the Board of Avtodor State Company, conducted on-site operational meetings at two stages of the M-12 construction project in the Moscow and Vladimir regions.

Given that it is planned to open the highway from Moscow to Arzamas in six months, Vyacheslav Petushenko instructed the builders to transition to daily work schedules and provide daily reports on what was done.

On the occasion of Builder's Day, it is required that asphalt be laid on all surfaces, including man-made structures, at the second phase of the Stage 0 in the Moscow region and the second phase of the Stage 1.

The primary route of M-12 in the Moscow region is being paved with asphalt concrete. This year it is planned to lay 600,000 tons of asphalt concrete at the second phase of the Stage 0. There, workers continue installation of a monolithic traffic barrier, construction of recreational areas at the 26th project kilometer (54th operational kilometer), installation of outdoor lighting poles, construction of treatment facilities, and operations on man-made structures.

This will be a six-lane section spanning 42.5 kilometers and featuring 20 artificial structures.

The overall length of the Stage 0 is over 65 kilometers. It will be linked to the Moscow High-Speed Diameter. On September 8, 2022, the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin inaugurated 22.5 km of the first phase of the Stage 0.

The M-12 highway will span a total of 77 km through six municipalities in the Moscow region, namely Balashikha, Lyubertsy, Pavlovsky Posad, Elektrostal, Bogorodsky urban district, and Orekhovo-Zuevo. They are home to 1.5 million people and host large production facilities and logistics centers.

The road serves as an alternative route to one of the busiest directions, the M-7 Volga. Upon commissioning the second phase of the Stage 0, transit traffic will be diverted from Balashikha and Noginsk.

Preparations are currently underway for laying asphalt concrete at the M-12 second phase of the Stage 1. Approximately 312,000 tons of asphalt concrete will be laid on this 32-kilometer section, which stretches from the intersection with the federal road A-108 Moscow Big Ring to M-7 Volga. Upon its launch, drivers will have an opportunity to bypass Pokrov.

In December 2022, the President of the Russian Federation took part in the ceremony of opening the first 48 km (Petushki bypass) of the Stage 1.
