The completion of the first hotel down the M-12 "Vostok" was announced at the XI Forum of Road Initiatives "Innovative Technologies and Intelligent Transportation Systems in Road Construction" during the plenary session "Moderation of Urban Planning Success of Roadside Areas".
The event was attended by Konstantin Makiev, Deputy Chair of the Management Board for Operator Activities and Development of User Services of the Russian Highways State Company, Anna Dolzhanskaya, Head of the Territorial Development Options of DOM.RF AO, Maxim Klimanov, leading expert of the Department of Urban and Regional Development of the National Research University with Higher School of Economics, as well as heads of regional ministries and members of businesses.
The participants discussed the impact of quality roadside infrastructure and expressway system on the regions' urban development potential in the road attraction zone. Shining examples are given by Vladimir and Nizhny Novgorod Oblasts — thanks to new, modern multifunctional zones (MFZs) and comfortable roadside areas, they were able to boost their tourist attractiveness. Also, the Republic of Altai and Kuzbass embark on constructing MFZs on their territories, adopting the experience of the Russian Highways.
As it was announced at the session, the M-12 "Vostok" users will soon be able to rest up at a new comfortable hotel, which is situated in the multifunctional service zone (MFZ) at km 421 of the expressway in Nizhny Novgorod Oblast, not far from Arzamas.
The hotel offers 45 rooms, 43 of which are standard rooms with an area of 18 square meters, and two, with an area of 27 square meters, are furnished to accommodate a family of four, as well as low-mobility guests.
Each room features a bathroom with toilet and shower, air conditioning, digital TV, WI-FI, telephone, refrigerator, and closet. The hotel itself will have a 24-hour cafe delivering hot meals and a coffee area, along with laundry services. The surrounding territory will provide the hotel guests with 24 parking spaces for various categories of vehicles, a children's playground and a dog walking area.
The hotel's convenient location just 35 km away from the tourist cluster "Arzamas - Diveevo - Sarov" will allow motor travelers to visit all the sights, not worrying about affordable and comfortable accommodation. Furthermore, there is an Orthodox shrine in honor of the Icon of the Virgin Mary of Tenderness and the Icon of St. Seraphim of Sarov at km 421 post. Besides, the hotel's place as part of the MFZ and the presence of road junctions nearby make the hotel a convenient stopover to rest up before traveling to Nizhny Novgorod or Kazan.
